It was around 9:30 pm I was sitting next to the fire place watching my favorite novella.

Her Spanish magazines, and off course my dog running around barking. Everything was

Normal. “Ring ring ring”, the phone rung my mom went to answer it she talked for a bit  

Then finally hung up as she hung up she had a big smile on her face I ignored it as if

nothing was wrong but  then in the few minutes I realized the reason she had that smile

on her face.

  I think it all started when I was around 7 years old  my dad had some drinking problems

He would drink and just keep drinking until he had no idea who he was and while he was

In that condition he would leave the house. He wouldn’t listen to my mom so she

couldn’t do anything about it. While he was in that condition he would go with his

friends and drink some more and then that’s when the police came. I remember my

Mom crying because they had arrested him he was in there for quite some time. He had

Lost his papers as well.

     Once they let him out he was deported Into Tijuana my mom would be taking us too

Visit him and I felt happy about it but it was hard because when we came back he would

have too stay there. It would be hard for us being at home without a dad with us.

He would call us as well my mom said it wasn’t that bad because he would call and

We would be going too visit him. But I knew my mom felt sad about it.

    After some few weeks had passed my mom was talking to my grandma about

That subject and they came to an idea about my dad coming here. I thought he was going

To pass the border like most of the people without papers but my mom wouldn’t tell me

nothing.

  Then on a Friday night we were all at home as usual. We hadn’t visited my dad in a bit I

Thought something was wrong but I was too scared to ask. That’s why I stayed quiet.

then after a few hours the phone rung my mom answered it and was happy. Few minutes  

 ater the door was ringing my mom opened it and hugged him. I went too see who it was

and then I saw my dad I was happy and I couldn’t wait too hug him and that’s what I did.

    After all that happened he doesn’t really drink and we just have fun by going to places

and im glad that he came back in that summer.
